While the septarian dragon egg looks like some super neat dragon egg fossil, it is comprised of mud balls that were formed during volcanic eruptions 50-70 million years ago! The mud was encased with decomposing minerals and dead sea life. When the oceans receded, these mud balls began to shrink, dry up, and crack into random patterns of beautiful Septarian nodules.
Even cooler? Get a black light and shine it on the crystal! The really dark patterns on the outside will be bright pink and glow.
